Cutting half square and quarter square triangles the easy way!

As all quilters know, it is a challenge to cut bunches of small squares, half square triangles and especially quarter square triangles and have them all be the same size. We are just humans after all and we make mistakes like looking up for just a second and our rotary cutter heads to the right or left! I certainly have had my fair share of not the best cut fabric pieces that is for sure. If we don’t cut the fabric cuts right, we can sew blocks that come out nice and even and the right size.

Some time ago, I purchased the Cricut Maker electronic cutting machine because it came with a tool that was a tiny rotary cutter. Life tends to change our plans without notice and I didn’t get to do much cutting with the Maker and it got set aside and, while not forgotten, not in the front of my mind.

This year I have decided to pull out all those tools, fabrics and gadgets around of sewing area and put them to use like they were intended. I know there are many of us that are in the same situation of life interrupting our crafting flow!!

Here is a video tutorial for the Cricut Maker showing how to draw and cut those perfect squares, half squares and quarter square triangles into any size we want, any time we want! Woohoo!

Be sure to comment and let me know what you’re going to use from your sewing room this year!
