Today’s project is a embroidery machine project. The designs are from Anita Goodesign and is based on our four seasons here in New Hampshire – Spring, Summer, Fall (Autumn) and Winter. Each row of the quilt depicts a season. All the rows are the same landscape with the big tree and pond on the left with seasonal activities in the center and moving towards the right. It is a project that you could pick one season and have a wall hanging or all the seasons for a quilt or larger wall hanging. The size of the project depends on which size blocks you make. They range from five inch blocks to eight inch blocks. There are also different inside borders based on each season that you could add.
In my case, I am doing one season at a time and having each season it’s own wall hanging. I am starting with Fall because it is far enough away that I don’t have to stress about getting it done!! Why pick Spring when we are in it or Summer which is right around the corner?? Make it easier on yourself when you are picking projects for your April List and give yourself as much time as possible to get it done. If I get my Fall row done before Fall, that will be pretty exciting!!
Disclaimer here! This is a class I am teaching so it lets me incorporate a class project I am doing into my April list!! Since we already had the first class, I have the first block done. I know I said that you didn’t have to work on your April list until the first of May but this class is going to be running for a few months so it is on my List. Perfect example of everything about the List isn’t set it stone or has harsh rules. Remember, we are using a pencil!!
The class homework is to get the second block done before the next class. I have about two weeks to get my second block done!!
See you tomorrow,
