Sometimes we can’t find just the right fabric color for a project we are doing. That has happened to me on a few occasions. I thought why not making a “fabric” using machine embroidery stitches so I can choose any color of embroidery thread I want!
I didn’t want anything that required alot of stitching but I did want some flexibility with the thread color or colors.

So let’s head to the “laboratory” and see what might work. Stitching that looks like plaid seemed the way to cover. It doesn’t require full stitch coverage and I could have one color thread going in the horizontal direction and another color thread going in the vertical direction. Best of all, it could be all one color thread without any big changes.
Looks like so far it is working!!
